Hey guys! Welcome to our ENGLISH BITES – The simplest, easiest and best way to practice your listening – the only one that is 100% created, executed and delivered from me to you – This is Erika Belmonte speaking and I’ll be more than pleased to be here with you guys three times a week and I’m pretty sure we’ll have a great time together – because more than learning and improving your English, I also want you to have some fun through a very exclusive content. Oh, one more thing: in case you need the transcription of this English Bite, please go to www.clubedoingles.com/englishbites and look for episode 02.
So today’s bite is gonna be really simple and easy. I’m gonna talk about my routine. That’s not the most interesting thing in the world, I know but my goal here is to provide different levels of vocabulary, structure and expressions in order to make all of you understand, practice and improve your skills.
Let’s get it started guys.
Well, actually I don’t have a routine, I mean, something that I always do every day at the same time but I’ll try to give you guys an idea.
I don’t know if all of you know that buy I live in in the state of Iowa, in the USA, in a very tiny city called North Liberty. I usually wake up around 7am and the first thing I do is open all the blinders in my house and then and I brew some black coffee. My husband Tuca and I can’t start our morning without a fresh black coffee so, yeah, I like to spoil him, after brewing the coffee, I bring him some coffee in bed.
After that I exercise for like, 40 minutes. Depending on the day I run or brisk walk around my neighborhood but winter is coming so I’d rather do something at home, like a full body workout exercise.
My breakfast: I usually have eggs – I love eggs! Omelet, Sunny side up, scrambled… 4 at once. Sometimes I mix avocado, almond milk, dates, oats, chia and banana for a very yummy and healthy vitamin. My friend Marcelo Bahia is the one who shared that recipe with me. You should try it (and if you do it, take a picture and show it to me… or it didn’t happen haha)
Alright, after my breakfast I start my day: I organize, vacuum, mop and wipe my house cause I like it very neat and clean. I make my bed, do the dishes… and I ALWAYS do all my chores listening to very loud music (it makes me feel full of energy, happy, excited) or I listen to some audiobooks – which is something that I’ve been absurdly addicted lately, but twice a week I do “the hard work” – laundry, ironing, cleaning bathrooms, windows, doors, changing linen, bathroom towels, all these boring chores you already know, right?
I have lunch around 1pm and in the afternoon, I usually teach English ‘cause I still keep some private English classes and then I focus on my activities from Clube do Ingles: planning, writing, shooting and editing videos, writing for my website, posting on social media, making plans of new projects, answering my followers on social media… yeah everything you see (and sometimes what you don’t) I do all by myself. And no, I don’t and I’ll never complain about it because I love doing all I do, I love helping all of you. Tuca my husband has been helping a lot with the whole structure not only here on WhatsApp but actually, with everything I do. He’s my greatest supporter and I’d never ever be able to do all these things to you if he wasn’t by my side.
Oh, and I also try to go live and show up on my Stories to talk to you, show you some different things or even teach you something nice! Wow, it’s hard to manage everything and I do push myself too hard and I get really mad at me when things just don’t go as I expected.
Depending on the day, I go to the supermarket or drugstore to restock my pantry. And I love doing that. I try to be quick, but I always feel like visiting every single aisle kkk – it’s like “What if I forget something important?” haha
One hour before going to bed I prepare a quick check list for the following day with the most important tasks I have to do, things I can’t forget… Then I take a shower and make some tea for both of us. I think it helps to calm us down, specially me… I’m too energetic – you know that, right?
So, that was a little bit of what my routine looks like… nothing special, there isn’t any glamour in any of my activities as you sometimes might imagine… it’s a day just like yours. And I’m really, really thankful every single day for my life for being so blessed.
As an exercise, I want you to think, tell someone or write down in your notebook… what does your routine looks like? And by the way, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support and for listening to this English bite. Is there anything you would like me to talk about in our English bites? So please let me know ok? Again, I’m really sorry but I won’t be able to answer all of you cause our family here is growing huge – Thank God – but you can bet I will personally read all your comments and suggestions ok?
I really hope you have enjoyed today’s episode. If there’s anyone you know that would like to receive our English Bites, please guide them to clubedoingles.com/whatsapp so they can subscribe and receive our English bites as well.
Take care of yourselves and I’ll see you on the next one. Bye
